An award-winning family owned business in Luton has seen a five-fold increase in its turnover in the last twelve months.
Twenty47Logistics, owned and managed by brothers Jo Kazmi and Isa Shah, moved into its new premises in Luton’s Bilton Way when they joined Fortec Distribution Network last year.
Now, with business booming, they are now seeking even larger premises and have expanded their services – to include shipment fulfilment services as well as same day courier.
Jo said: “A year ago we were primarily a parcel delivery company, doing well and happy with our business strategy. When Fortec approached us we looked into pallet networks and how they might be able to support our business growth.
“We ended up chatting to several networks but Fortec stood out for us – being incredibly supportive. Fortec helped and supported us even before we decided to sign up and become a member. Their commitment to the logistics sector and to supporting transport and haulage firms is incredible and we are really proud to now be an official partner.”
Twenty47Logistics currently have an 11,000 sq ft headquarters in Luton but have ambitious plans. The company, which currently has an annual turnover of £1.5million, aspires to increase its turnover to at least £5million in the next few years.
Isa said: “When we invested in our new premises we thought it would be too big for our needs. Now our customers are increasingly requesting warehouse storage, so we are now looking for even bigger premises – but keen to stay local and support the Luton economy.”
Jo said: “In our culture there is no problem we can’t handle, there is always a solution. Our grandfather came to the UK in 1959 from Kashmir and was dedicated to working hard from the get go. Our mum continued with this work ethic, working as a professional tailor. We feel the same. Our company started as a one man and a van business – now we are hugely ambitious and committed to continued growth.”
Gary Flight, Regional Commercial Manager at Fortec, said: “This company’s can-do attitude is incredible, this team constantly amaze and impress me. Not surprisingly they scooped a top award at our Fortec Annual Awards in January, being crowned Best Newcomer and praised by judges for their commitment, innovation and determination.”
Twenty47Logistics now cover the following postcodes for Fortec: LU, SG, EN, WD and part of MK.
