The Fortec Distribution Network was established in 1996 and is now one of the leading pallet networks in the UK and Ireland. We are part of Pall-Ex Group and deliver added value solutions for your supply chain.
1996
Fortec are incorporated and begin to provide a UK pallet distribution service in the UK from a facility based in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.
2001
Fortec Distribution Network continues to grow. Extending it's reach to Ireland results in a relocation to a facility 50% larger in Rugby, Warwickshire.
2002
Investment is made in an independent management team to drive forward growth within a five year plan; building a strong UK-wide pallet network of service-driven members.
2007
Fortec Distribution Network completes their second successful move to their Northamptonshire base; a site 50% larger again.
2008
Fortec enter into an systems partnership with TM Ware to launch its web-based TMS platform ‘ForTrack’.
2009
New management team embark on a new five year strategy plan to ensure Fortec is recognised within the industry as a successful UK pallet network.
2010
Significant drives and investment result in year on year continuous improvement in all areas of the business; in line with the 2008 five-year strategy plan
2012
Fortec Distribution Network is the first UK pallet network to achieve the Investors in Excellence accreditation.
2013
Fortec Distribution Network sees the millionth pallet shipped through their UK pallet network sparking its company-wide brand refresh.
2014
Fortec launches new Connect app to enable consignment tracking, signature capture and GPS stamped deliveries in real time. Rebranded Fortec livery rolls out across the UK.
2015
The pallet network reaches a record number of members and stable, profitable growth. A progressive IT plan ensures members benefit from additional operational tools.
2016
Fortec celebrates 20 years in business and launches its Simply European service and further IT solutions for members; Map:IT, Track:IT and Report:IT.
2017
Fortec reduces it's maximum tail-lift limit to 750 kg in line with business initiatives to make the logistics industry safer.
2018
Fortec undergoes a £3 million expansion at its Watford Gap hub and additional security measures are implemented, including 126 CCTV cameras site-wide.
2019
Fortec launches in-house forklift training academy to support local jobseekers with employment and launches its pallet scanning app; Track:IT.
2020
Fortec is acquired by the Pall-Ex Group forming the largest member-owned group of transport companies in the UK. Fortec receives ISO 9001:2015 accreditation.
