The Fortec Distribution Network is one of five finalists in the Growth category in the transport industry’s prestigious Storage Handling & Distribution Logistics Awards.
Now in its third year, the SHD Logistics Awards recognise operational excellence and celebrate the very best companies within the logistics and supply chain sectors.
It is a tremendous accolade for the pallet distribution network which has over the past 12 months achieved double digit growth and has its sights on becoming the network of choice.
This year celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Fortec Distribution Network, which is based at Watford Gap, has gone from strength to strength and has enjoyed significant growth every year since it was first established.
Further it is a network which is not insignificant in size. Through its national network, the Fortec membership has over 1,000 employees, operates over 350 C&D vehicles a day and 150 double-deck trailers and utilisies millions of square feet of warehousing. Members selected to partner with Fortec are required to meet stringent business criteria.
It is however the developments over the past 12 months which have played a major contributory factor in the continuing Fortec success story. Major investment in IT has helped improve efficiency, communication, transparency across the network and ensure better utilisation of fleet.
Additionally to further support the company’s growth, Fortec expanded its operations with the opening of a new regional hub at Warrington, Cheshire, to help serve members and their customers in the North.
Other new services have also been introduced to further assist members including the launch of Simply European
