Member Stories: LHT Logistics

About LHT Logistics

Founded in 2001, LHT Logistics has a wealth of experience in the industry and has gained a well-deserved reputation for consistently providing a first-class transport service. With a dedicated team of 24 staff, LHT provides a range of logistics services to businesses in the surrounding area, including warehousing, pick and pack, full/part loads and overnight pallet distribution.

From its depot in Waltham Abbey on the outskirts of London, LHT operates a fleet of 13 vehicles ranging from 3.5T curtain vans all the way up to 44 tonne articulated lorries. The business is committed to setting high standards when it comes to safety, best practice and efficiency, demonstrated through its FORS Silver accreditation. All its vehicles are equipped with additional safety measures aimed at minimising blind spots, vitally important when operating in London’s busy streets.

Company Ethos

LHT’s company ethos is all about service, teamwork, and making it happen. The family-owned and operated business takes pride in its willingness to go the extra mile for its customers. Ben Ruby, Managing Director at LHT Logistics comments: “For me, it’s all about understanding your customers’ needs, good communication and adapting to a situation to provide the solution.”

Fortec Membership

Becoming a Fortec member was the beginning of an unrivalled partnership between the two businesses that has now spanned more than twenty years. Their combined resources gave LHT the capability to provide a more diverse service offering that brought quicker and more cost-effective distribution services to its customer base.

LHT also became a Pall-Ex member more recently, taking advantage of the opportunity to become a shareholder in both networks. Ben added: “Being a shareholder member of the network is important for us. Having a say, being part of its growth, and helping to drive the business in the right direction can only benefit everyone involved.”

The London Project

Having become part of the London Project when it launched in early 2022, LHT has played a major part in improving and maintaining Pall-Ex Group’s service levels in and around London. Being part of the London Project was a game changer for LHT, with Ben adding: “The change of territory and rate uplift has helped us run efficiently and we can now concentrate on giving Pall-Ex Group our entire focus.”

Fortec Member of the Year

It is this dedication to providing an excellent service to the rest of the network that saw LHT Logistics take home the prestigious Fortec Member of the Year award at the Pall-Ex Group annual awards evening. This award is a huge testament to the commitment of the team at LHT and their drive to succeed.

“Being awarded Fortec Member of the Year was a fantastic feeling for the whole team, and being shortlisted for Pall-Ex Member of the Year was also a massive achievement considering the short time we have been with the network. The members’ vote is really important to us so we try and go the extra mile wherever possible to help out in any way we can,” concludes Ben.
