New corporate account boosts volume for the festive season

Fortec Distribution Network’s new corporate customer will boost volume for members with 6,000 additional pallets set to go through the network between now and Christmas.

Cadeby Trees – a Christmas tree wholesaler based in Hinckley – delivers over 200,000 trees a year to retail stores UK-wide, and says their strict quality controls, competitive pricing and the promise of reducing the miles from forest to store is key to their success.

With a need for larger pallet sizes, Cadeby Trees – which began trading with the network in September 2020 – will now make use of Fortec’s oversize allowance and extra weight so that their trees can lie flat during transit.

Christian Bonshor, General Manager at Cadeby Trees said: “Our trees need to be harvested and delivered quickly with no compromise to strict quality measures. This means our retailers can sell with confidence.

“We were impressed with Fortec’s oversized pallet which provides a bespoke solution, allowing us to fit more trees on and ensuring no damage. It also enables us to do everything under the Fortec umbrella without the need to look at individual suppliers. Moving to Fortec will enable us to maintain our high levels of quality whilst also benefitting from the increased pallet size and competitive pricing and we’re looking forward to developing our relationship further.”

Adrian Bradley, Manager Director of Fortec Distribution Network, said: "We’re passionate about driving volume - this is something we have been focusing on and promising our members. The new partnership with Cadeby Trees is very timely and exciting, and will mean thousands of extra pallets between now and December. It will provide an incredibly seasonal focus and keeps our fingers on the pulse as we enhance and build our network for the benefit of our members. We promised more volume for our members, and here it is.”
